The event was aimed at developing Raleigh’s potential and resources to make it a 21st century innovation city. The half-day event included a 2½-hour break- out session that explored:

  • Creating an innovation center in Raleigh;
  • Branding Raleigh as a city of innovation;
  • Creating effective partnerships; and,
  • Attracting more money to the region.

Sponsors for the summit were North Carolina State University, the City of Raleigh, the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, Raleigh Economic Development and Wake County Economic Development. The four questions the organizers identified as needing to be answered as a result of the event were:

  • What’s our common mindset and our purpose for being here;
  • Where are we now? In other words, what is the current state of funding, branding, partnering and innovation;
  • Where do we want to be; and,
  • How do we get there?

Tune in to RTN11 to see how well they did in answering these questions.
