Crabtree Creek Trail between Raleigh Boulevard and Milburnie Road will have intermittent closures until September 2013 to accommodate the construction of the Crabtree Creek Wastewater System Conveyance Improvements Project Phase I.

  • Construction is expected to resume June 1st. The trail between Raleigh Boulevard and Milburnie Road will be closed from June 1st through September 1st.

The Crabtree Creek Wastewater System Conveyance Improvements Project Phase I is the City's proactive approach to improving it's wastewater collection system along Crabtree Creek which carries nearly half of all wastewater generated by the City. Public Utilities work is expected to resume in the area of Walnut Creek Trail between Garner Road and Wilmington Street. The trail will not be closed, but trail users are advised that trail traffic may be impeded at times during the workday and should be cautious of construction activities and equipment in the area. The Centennial Bikeway Connector will be closed from Lake Wheeler Road to Achievement Drive until May 31st for Public Utilities work on the water reuse pipeline. Through travel may be possible at this time, however traffic may be impeded at times and the surface may be rough. Marsh Creek Greenway Trail:

Due to the replacement of the Marsh Creek sewer line by the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department the eastern boundary of Brentwood Neighborhood Park will be impacted. More specifically the portion of Marsh Creek Greenway trail that runs through Brentwood Neighborhood Park is expected to be closed from late June 2013 - December 31, 2013. For more information about the sewer line replacement project you may contact either the City's on-site representative, Kelly Joyner at (919) 796-7622 cell or kelly.joyner@raleighnc.gov or Aaron Brower at (919) 996-3469 or aaron.brower@raleighnc.gov. If you have questions regarding Brentwood Neighborhood Park you may contact Green Road Community Center at (919) 872-4140.

Pullen Park Information

Pullen Park Playground

Due to a maintenance issue found during routine inspections, the 2-5 year old section of the playground will remain closed until Saturday May 18th. The remaining section of the playground and rides will remain open for normal operation.

Pullen Park Overflow Parking

The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department announces the following changes for parking during your visit at Pullen Park.

During the Week: Overflow parking is available until 5 pm at the Hunt Drive Soccer Fields on the Dorthea Dix campus. Patrons are asked not to park along Western Boulevard per RCC 11-2171(b)(1).

During the Weekend: Overflow parking is available at the Governor Morehead parking lot located directly across from Pullen Park on Ashe Avenue. This additional parking area will now be available on weekends through December 2, 2013.

As a safety reminder, patrons are asked not to park along Western Boulevard per RCC 11-2171(b)(1).
