Field Status

All athletic games, practices and field rentals are cancelled due to field wetness.

Lakes

Please note the following for Mondays (October-March):

  • Lake Wheeler gates are closed
  • Lake Johnson will not operate boat rentals or concessions. Bathrooms will remain unlocked for public use.

Greenways

The Neuse River Trail will be closed between mile markers 4 ½ and 5 from Monday, February 20th through Tuesday, February 28th. Construction related to the Neuse River Trail bridge installation will be occurring in this area. The bridge will cross the Neuse River and connect the Neuse River Trail with the Wake Forest greenway system. The bridge is expected to open in the Fall of 2012.

The Neuse River Trail from Anderson Point Park to Abington Lane is closed and will remain closed until September 2012. The trail is being paved and 2 bridges across the Neuse River are being constructed as part of the overall Neuse River Trail project. When completed next year the Neuse River Trail will extend from Falls Lake Dam to the Wake/Johnston County Line.

Pullen Park Amusement Open Monday

At Pullen Park, although the amusement rides remain closed on Mondays during the month of February; with Wake County Public Schools out and with nice weather in the forecast; Pullen Park Amusement Rides, Playground, and the Pullen Place café will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Pullen Park Overflow Parking

We anticipate a high volume of park patrons at Pullen Park during the weekend. Overflow parking is available in the Cates Avenue parking deck. Park visitors may use pedestrian walkways from the deck to access Pullen Park.
